Title: Marilyn’s Kitchen and Family Room
Project/Design:
A small galley kitchen needed to function efficiently for a career woman who
enjoys entertaining and wanted a beautiful environment in which to indulge
her passion for cooking while entertaining. Because we have lived aboard boats
for more than 20 years efficient use of space is a natural for us. All storage
spaces were customized after consultation with the client - from ventilated
produce storage for her garden’s harvest to wood framed glass doors allowing
her collection of hand-made plates to be visible and easily accessible. Each
area was carefully thought out.
To add elegance Madrone burl veneer was set
into panels above and below the peninsula counter and below the fireplace hearth
with Ebony dots, pyramid designs and accent lines enriching the design. As
a backdrop for fresh flowers, culinary works of art or sculpture pieces the
panel at the end of the counter exemplifies the successful combination of function
and beauty.
